Dog Pound

This weekend my brother and his wife came to stay with us. They had some things to do here in LV and so.... here they are. Anywho, they brought their dog Duke. It has been so much fun with him around the house. Gizmo and Duke get along smashingly. They follow each other around because they don't want to miss anything. If one barks.... the other barks. If one jumps on the couch.... the other jumps on the couch. Well, you get my point. It kind of reminds me of the Loony Toon cartoon where you have the big dog "Spike" and the little dog is jumping around him saying "What are we going to do today, Spike.... huh?.... huh?..... huh?...... I hope they bring him to visit more!

TA-DA!

Well…. what do you think? We finally have our entertainment center finished. We have been prepping, setting up, putting together, rearranging, moving, etc., to get this done. It was Zenon’s and my Christmas present to each other.

During a quick trip to UT last fall, I went to IKEA with my mom and aunt. My aunt (thanks Tayva) gave me a great idea to use office furniture instead of regular entertainment furniture. It has a ton of storage and looks great. After going over everything with Zenon, we went back to IKEA and got everything we needed. We then got our surround sound system wired and ready to go.

Friday night, after work, we went to work painting (2:00 a.m.) I must admit I fell asleep around 12:00 a.m. Anyway, Saturday was spent putting all of the furniture together from IKEA. Sunday was spent hanging the cabinets to the wall and putting the hardware on the doors and hanging the doors to the cabinets. Sheesh!

I’m so glad it’s done. We would have like to have done a little bit more (visually) to the area but we are out of money. We will just have to enjoy our new area and save a bit more by watching movies at home. Maybe in a few months……or years….

Happy Birthday Mom!

Yesterday was my mom’s birthday. I would have posted about it then but I was actually visiting her instead of sitting in front of a computer. I had so much fun spending time with her. I always do! She is the BEST!

We shopped till we dropped, of course. I didn’t buy anything but it doesn’t matter. I could have spent days shopping with her and not buy anything and be perfectly content. Just being with her was enough for me.

As I get older, I’m told more and more how much like my mother I am. (I only wish!) She is such an example. She is such a positive, loving, sweet, caring and wonderful person. Everyone loves her! I was always told, growing up, how cool my mother was. A lot of my friends wished they had a mother just like mine. What a complement! And she is mine…. my mother. Lucky me!

To Blog Or Not To Blog

Lately, I have been wondering why “I” should blog. I mean… I read all of my friends and family’s blogs and absolutely LOVE them. It keeps me updated on everyone and it lets me share in a little part of their lives. In fact, reading everyone else’s blogs was the reason why I started doing it in the first place.

However, as of late, I am questioning why I’m blogging at all. To be perfectly honest, I don’t think my life is all that interesting. I find myself struggling just trying to find something to blog about. When I sit down to blog and share a little bit into my week or month, I just go blank and say, “Maybe I’ll have something to share tomorrow.”

I’m sure it doesn’t help when I read about everyone’s lives being filled with wonderful and interesting things. But when I think about sharing about me, the only answer I come up with is…, “Got up this morning, went to work, came home, cleaned, watched a little TV and went to bed.” And seriously…. that really IS my life.

Maybe I need a new outlook on the whole situation. Maybe I’m not as boring as I think I am….(I think). So, “To blog or not to blog, that is the question.”

Hi All! Yes, I'm alive. I haven't had a computer since the end of October. That is no excuse for why I haven't blogged. However, it does explain my absence for at least the past few months.

So, instead of trying to make up for lost time.... I'll just.... "skip to the end" and continue on. Happy New Year!!! I hope 2009 year brings all of you joy and happiness.
